Giovanni Pico della Mirandola was an Italian humanist, cabbalist and philosopher of the Renaissance era. He was born on February 24, 1463 in Mirandola, Emilia-Romagna. In 1486 Pico published his »Oration on the Dignity of Man« at the age of just 23. This oration still belongs to the most read and cited writings of those times and survived Pico until today. Pico died already on November 17, 1494 in Florence.
